Rosatom intends to invest in uranium mining in Kazakhstan

Rosatom intends to invest in uranium mining in Kazakhstan, CEO of the Russian state nuclear corporation Alexey Likhachev told the Izvestia.

Kazakhstan is the top uranium producer – we will develop cooperation with consideration of interest of third countries, create alliances, and invest in production in Kazakhstan,” he said.

If Kazakhstan says “yes” to the nuclear power sector, Rosatom will be able to promptly implement the project of nuclear power plant construction in the country, Likhachev said.

Kazakh partners already had the opportunity to closely study the Rosatom’s experience in the field of nuclear power plants construction, he added.
