West African Resources provides production update for Sanbrado gold mine

West African Resources recently provided a production update for its Sanbrado gold mine in Burkina Faso. In the update, the company disclosed that it produced nearly 56,600 ounces of gold and sold over 49,500 ounces at an average sales price of US$2,078 per ounce. Notably, the first quarter of the year witnessed a decline in the ounces extracted from the open pit, while the underground mine’s contribution increased as per the mine plan. This led to an average head grade of 2.2 g/t gold and a recovery rate of nearly 94%, supported by the underground mine’s grade alignment with the modeled grade.

West African Resources reiterated its full-year guidance, aiming to produce between 190,000 and 210,000 ounces of gold at an all-in sustaining cost of under US$1,300 per ounce.
