Returning to Paris: The 7th annual mining on Top Africa Summit

As the world’s demand for critical minerals continues to rise exponentially, Africa finds itself in a prime position to capitalize on its abundant resources. With a focus on battery minerals crucial for global transitions towards green energy, digital advancements, and defense technologies, Africa’s mining sector is poised for significant growth. The key to unlocking this potential lies in forging partnerships and collaborations with industry players across the globe, including the US, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.

Europe, in particular, has already established partnerships with several African countries and seeks to expand further. The European Investment Bank group and other development finance institutions are also exploring ways to strengthen value chains for critical raw materials between Europe and Africa.

Against this backdrop, AME Trade Ltd, a prominent Africa-focused B2B event organizer, is once again hosting the Mining on Top Africa Summit in Paris. This event offers a unique opportunity for European industry stakeholders to engage with high-level decision-makers from both the African public and private sectors. The main theme of MOTA 2024 will center on “Responsible Investing & Diversification Strategies in a Low-Growth Environment.”

The previous MOTA event in 2023 attracted over 300 delegates from more than 25 countries. Ministerial delegations from several African nations, including Algeria, Benin, Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Niger, Senegal, and Zambia, were in attendance. The summit received support from key international stakeholders such as the Government of France, BRGM, International Chamber of Commerce, and Affectio Mutandi. Notable sponsors included Global Atomic, Port Automne de Cotonou, SMB-Winning, Orano, DMT, and Fenor.

With the stage set for meaningful discussions and collaborations, the Mining on Top Africa Summit promises to be a pivotal event in advancing partnerships for resource development in Africa.
