A Canadian mining company, with a significant open pit gold mine in Northern Ireland, has made its first gold shipment from its underground mine.
Galantas Gold Corporation confirmed in a statement this week that the first shipment of gold and silver concentrates from its underground Omagh Mine is on its way.
Around 25 tonnes of gold and silver concentrate will be delivered to the New Brunswick Smelter in Canada, currently operated by Glencore.
Roland Phelps, President & CEO Galantas Gold Corporation, said, “I am delighted that the first concentrate from underground development has been delivered, which will result in near-term cash flow. We continue to make solid and determined progress towards commercial production”.
