European Lithium produces 6% lithium with ease as offtake interest grows
European Lithium continues to achieve milestones from its Wolfsberg Lithium Project in Austria, with the latest test work showing a spodumene flotation concentrate exceeding 6% lithium can be readily achieved.
Dorfner Anzaplan conducted the test work.
The news will continue to flow, as EUR is now working on recovery of marketable by-products, which would further enhance economics at Wolfsberg.
This is scheduled for completion by the end of April 2017.
Drilling results will also continue over the next four weeks, which are targeting an increase in the resource, which is expected.
Work also continues on the production of battery grade lithium carbonate and hydroxide.
News on offtake agreements could also be on the radar, with a leading European glass-ceramic producer finding the Dense Media Separation concentrate as suitable to continue to a pilot plant trial.
Steve Kesler, CEO, commented:
“The test work with Dorfner Anzaplan has shown that waste dilution from mining can be rejected by sensor based sorting.
“This allows a 6% Li2O concentrate to readily be produced for sale or conversion to lithium carbonate and hydroxide.
“A DMS concentrate can be fast tracked as potential feed to European glass-ceramic producers.
“Work continues on recovery of flotation by-products and production of battery grade lithium carbonate and hydroxide.
“We look forward to completion of this work by end April.”
Wolfsberg
The project is comprised of 22 original and 32 overlapping exploration licences and a mining licence over 11 mining areas has been issued by the Austrian Mining Authority.
As part of the company’s strategy to fast-track Wolfsberg’s development, SRK Consulting was engaged to undertake the mine design studies for the pre-feasibility study.
