Eurasia Mining gains assay results for Semenovsky tailings project in Russia

Eurasia Mining has received assay results from the 2016 metallurgical drilling programme carried out at the Semenovsky tailings project in Russia.

Upon receipt of these results, Eurasia aims to plan the design of the processing plant, as well as confirm the tails grade and reliability of previous workers sampling.

The depth of the 1.5kmĀ² tailings dam varies from 6m-11m on average.

A drilling programme was carried out on site and samples were sent to SGS Chita for assay and subsequent metallurgical analysis.

“Results of gold recovery tests will allow us to refine design of the process plant and optimise the mining operation.”
The testing programme is considered in three phases and the assay results returned for the 54 samples collected in first phase are in line with previous estimates.

Phase 1a includes fire assay of samples, with phase 1b comprising bottle-roll cyanide-leach testing, and phase 2 involving optimisation of leach variables.

The sampling programme has been designed to test the complete column of sands through to underlying clays below the tailings foundation.

Eurasia geologists evenly spaces five drill holes over the tailings dam and logged and individually bagged the sands on site in Semenovsky.

Separately, Eurasia submitted a reserves report to local authorities on 30 May.

Eurasia Mining managing director Christian Schaffalitzky said: “Having worked in Russia for many years, we are familiar with the excellent standard of Russian geological assessments and have complete faith in the Russian system of mineral resource definition but working in partnership with MTR, are duty bound to provide normal due diligence confirmation.

“We now look forward to results of gold recovery tests, which will allow us to refine the design of the process plant and optimise the mining operation.”
