Centerra Gold Receives 2017 Mine Plan Approvals for Kumtor Mine
Centerra Gold Inc. reports that its Kumtor operation in the Kyrgyz Republic has received the necessary permits and approvals for its 2017 mine plan. The approvals and permits are valid for the full year.
Kumtor has received the industrial safety and subsoil expertise from the Kyrgyz Republic State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use for its 2017 Special Mine Plan, which includes the Central Pit and Sarytor area. Kumtor has also received the environmental expertise on the 2017 mine plan issued by the Kyrgyz Republic State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry.
In addition, SAEPF has also issued the 2017 maximum allowable emissions permit and the waste disposal permits for the site. With these permits Kumtor has the necessary permits and approvals in place for mining operations throughout 2017. Kumtor routinely discharges water from its tailings facility starting in the spring and expects to apply for and receive, in the ordinary course, the required discharge permit prior to that time.
