Auroch Minerals receives approval for Tisová Copper mine in Czech Republic
Auroch Minerals has secured initial approval from the Czech Republic’s Department of the Environment and Agriculture to carry out an initial drilling programme at the historic Tisová Copper mine.
The company is now expected to undertake an initial 12-hole 5,500m drilling programme at the mine.
A recent sampling demonstrated that the mine contains previously unrecognised cobalt, gold and silver with grades of 0.68% Co, 3.5% Cu and 3.7g/t Au, in addition to the already known copper deposits.
Auroch Minerals CEO Dr Andrew Tunks said: “This is a great result obtaining drilling approval in the Czech Republic for our planned work programme at Tisová.
“We are thrilled to have received confirmation and approval within one week, allowing us to commence activities earlier than anticipated.
“My recent trip to site and our ongoing work on historic plans and drilling indicate the enormous tonnage potential of this orebody, which extends over 800m of strike over 700m down dip, is up to 80m thick and is open in all directions.”
The company signed an option agreement to wholly acquire the Tisová Copper in July.
The Tisová project includes the historic Tisová mine and three exploration licence applications in the Czech Republic.
Tisová Copper mine is a volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit and comprises chalcopyrite-rich ore within massive, semi-massive and disseminated sulphides.
The drilling campaign is expected to commence next month.
