Terra Balcanica Secures New Exploration Licence in Bosnia, Expands High-Grade Silver, Zinc and Copper Potential at Viogor Project

Terra Balcanica Resources Corp. has strengthened its position in southeastern Europe’s growing mining sector after securing a new mineral exploration licence covering the Viogor Polymetallic Project in eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina. The permit consolidates several highly prospective exploration targets within one large project area and provides the company with a long-term platform to advance exploration of silver, zinc, lead, copper, gold, antimony, and molybdenum mineralization in one of the Balkans’ most historically productive mining districts.

The newly granted exploration licence was issued to Energetski Minerali d.o.o. Banja Luka, Terra Balcanica’s wholly owned subsidiary, by the Ministry of Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska. The permit is valid for an initial three-year period and includes provisions for two additional two-year extensions, allowing the company to maintain exploration rights for up to seven years.

The approval marks an important milestone for Terra Balcanica as it seeks to unlock the significant mineral potential of the historic Srebrenica mining district and expand its footprint in a region increasingly recognized for its strategic importance to the European mining industry.

Viogor Project Consolidates Multiple High-Priority Discovery Areas

The new licence covers approximately 49 square kilometers and incorporates three key exploration targets identified through Terra’s fieldwork between 2020 and 2022.

These include the historically recognized Čumavići Polymetallic Corridor, the Kiseli Potok molybdenum porphyry target, and the recently discovered Brežani mineralized systems. The project stretches along the northwest-southeast trending Alpine metallogenic corridor west and south of the town of Srebrenica, an area with a long history of precious and base metal production.

By bringing these targets together under a single exploration permit, Terra Balcanica gains greater flexibility to conduct district-scale exploration programs and evaluate the broader mineralizing system that extends across the region.

Strategic Location Near Major Mining Operations

The Viogor Project occupies a highly favorable position within Bosnia and Herzegovina’s mining landscape.

The property lies roughly 80 kilometers east-northeast of the Vareš mining complex, one of the Balkans’ most significant polymetallic projects. The Vareš deposit hosts substantial resources containing silver, gold, zinc, lead, copper, and barite, with grades comparable to several mineralized zones identified within the Viogor district.

Equally important, the project is situated adjacent to the operating Sase (Gross) Mine, owned by Mineco Ltd., which currently produces approximately 330,000 tonnes of lead-zinc-silver-gold concentrate annually.

The presence of nearby processing infrastructure, including crushing and flotation facilities, provides a potential strategic advantage for future project development and could significantly reduce capital requirements should economic deposits be delineated.

Geological Setting Highlights Strong Discovery Potential

The Viogor Project is located within the Srebrenica Magmatic Complex, a mineral-rich geological system that forms part of the broader Podrinje Metallogenic District. This district represents the northwestern extension of the renowned Serbo-Macedonian Metallogenic Province, one of southeastern Europe’s most important mineral belts.

The region hosts a variety of mineral deposit styles associated with Oligocene and Miocene magmatic activity, including greisen systems, hydrothermal vein deposits, skarns, and epithermal mineralization.

Geologists have long recognized the Srebrenica district for its rich assemblage of metals, including silver, lead, zinc, tin, antimony, copper, and gold. The mineralogical characteristics of the district bear similarities to several globally recognized mining regions, including Bolivia’s San José silver-tin deposit, Germany’s Freiberg district, Greece’s Lavrion mining area, and Romania’s Baia Mare metallogenic province.

This geological setting provides a strong foundation for future discoveries as Terra continues to evaluate multiple exploration targets across the project area.

Čumavići Corridor Emerges as Flagship Exploration Target

Among the project’s most advanced targets is the Čumavići Corridor, a large epithermal system extending more than 7.2 kilometers along strike. The corridor hosts multiple high-grade silver-gold-lead-zinc-antimony vein systems associated with intermediate-sulfidation epithermal mineralization. Drilling completed by Terra Balcanica has already confirmed three distinct polymetallic systems, including Joševa, Čumavići Crest, and the flagship Čumavići Ridge zone. Several additional targets remain untested, providing substantial exploration upside.

Results from more than 28 drill holes completed at Čumavići Ridge have returned an average grade of approximately 485 grams per tonne silver equivalent over four meters, highlighting the high-grade nature of the mineralization. The ore system is characterized by sphalerite, galena, stibnite, silver-rich sulfosalts, quartz, and calcite veining, all typical indicators of productive epithermal mineral systems.

Brežani Discovery Demonstrates Large-Scale Potential

The Brežani target represents another significant opportunity within the Viogor Project. Identified through airborne electromagnetic, magnetic, and geochemical surveys, Brežani hosts a large magmatic-hydrothermal system that includes both gold-bearing skarn mineralization and deeper polymetallic epithermal zones.

Previous drilling intersected broad zones of silver-antimony-zinc mineralization hosted within fault-breccia structures at depth. One notable intercept returned approximately 20 meters grading more than 436 grams per tonne silver equivalent, highlighting the system’s high-grade potential.

Geophysical surveys have outlined a conductor extending approximately 1.2 kilometers in length, up to 600 meters wide and roughly 20 meters thick. The scale of this anomaly suggests the possibility of a substantial mineralized body capable of supporting future resource growth. Exploration data also indicates that drilling may have intercepted mineralization below the primary boiling zone of the hydrothermal system, suggesting additional upside potential at shallower levels.

Growing Importance of European Critical Minerals Exploration

The Viogor Project arrives at a time when Europe is actively seeking new domestic sources of critical and strategic minerals. The European Union continues to prioritize supply chain security for essential metals used in clean energy technologies, advanced manufacturing, infrastructure development, and industrial production. Projects capable of supplying zinc, copper, silver, lead, and molybdenum are attracting increasing attention from investors and policymakers alike.

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s rich geological endowment, combined with its strategic location near European industrial markets, positions the country as an increasingly attractive destination for mineral exploration and mine development.

Strengthening the Balance Sheet Through Debt Settlement

In addition to announcing the new licence, Terra Balcanica revealed plans to settle approximately C$100,000 in outstanding debt through the issuance of common shares. The company will issue approximately 1.67 million shares at a price of C$0.06 per share to two arm’s-length creditors. Management stated that preserving cash resources for exploration and operational activities remains a priority as the company advances its projects across the Balkans.

The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and applicable securities regulations.

Building a Leading Polymetallic Exploration Company in the Balkans

Terra Balcanica continues to focus on discovering and developing large-scale polymetallic systems throughout southeastern Europe. With 100% ownership of the Viogor Project and additional exposure to uranium exploration assets in Canada through its investment in Terra North Resources Corp., the company is positioning itself as an emerging player in the global critical minerals sector.

The newly granted exploration licence significantly expands Terra’s opportunities within the historic Srebrenica district and provides access to a geological environment known for hosting high-grade silver, zinc, lead, copper, gold, and antimony mineralization.

As exploration progresses, the Viogor Project has the potential to become one of the most important emerging polymetallic districts in the Balkans, contributing to Europe’s growing demand for domestically sourced critical minerals while supporting long-term resource development in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
