FireFox Gold has expanded high-grade mineralisation at its wholly owned Mustajärvi gold project in Finnish Lapland, with new drilling returning significant gold intercepts from the Northeast and Central zones. The latest results strengthen the exploration case at Mustajärvi and indicate that mineralised structures may extend beyond areas previously outlined by drilling.
High-Grade Gold Intercepts Extend Northeast Zone
The most notable result came from drill hole 26MJ030, which intersected 2 metres grading 44.65 grams of gold per tonne from a depth of 118.6 metres. The same hole also returned a deeper 7-metre interval grading 11.36 grams per tonne, including 1 metre at 57.9 grams per tonne associated with visible gold.
Drilled approximately 56 metres west-northwest of an earlier high-grade intersection, hole 26MJ030 extended the known core of the Northeast Zone by more than 50 metres westward. A further hole drilled beneath the newly identified mineralisation is awaiting assay results, which could provide additional information on the depth continuity of the high-grade structure.
Central Zone Delivers Additional Gold Results
Drilling also produced encouraging results from the less extensively tested Central Zone. Hole 26MJ026 intersected 3.95 metres at 6.57 grams per tonne, including separate intervals of 1 metre at 14.9 grams per tonne and 0.75 metres at 14.45 grams per tonne.
Another hole, 26MJ027, returned 3.1 metres grading 2.22 grams per tonne, including 0.95 metres at 6.02 grams per tonne. The results add to the growing body of drilling data across Mustajärvi and support further investigation of the property’s mineralised structures.
Mustajärvi Sits in Finland’s Established Gold Region
The Mustajärvi project is located between Kittilä and Sodankylä, approximately 17 kilometres east of Kittilä, within a well-established gold-mining district in northern Finland. FireFox Gold and previous operators have completed almost 29,700 metres of drilling across the property. Exploration has identified multiple mineralised zones extending along more than 2 kilometres of strike. The project’s geology consists of strongly altered metasedimentary rocks affected by shearing and brecciation, together with quartz-carbonate-tourmaline veins associated with the mineralisation.
Exploration Targets Further Extensions
FireFox believes the latest drilling supports the possibility of a southwest extension of the Northeast Zone. The company also considers the results indicative of high-grade structures potentially continuing beyond the limits established through earlier drilling. Further exploration is therefore focused on establishing the geometry, continuity and extent of these mineralised structures.
Resource Definition Remains Ahead
Despite the high-grade intersections, Mustajärvi does not yet have a formal mineral resource estimate, preliminary economic assessment or development study. The reported intervals represent drill-core lengths, while their true widths have not yet been determined. Establishing continuity between drill holes and understanding the underlying geological structures will be important in assessing the broader significance of the results. The eventual economic potential of the project will also depend on factors including mineralisation continuity, structural interpretation, metallurgy and the amount of material that can ultimately be classified as a compliant mineral resource.
2026–2027 Drilling Campaign Continues
FireFox is continuing exploration during its 2026–2027 drilling campaign, with work extending to the Gabbro and Triangle targets as well as the newly identified parallel Lammas structure. Pending assays from the hole drilled beneath 26MJ030 will provide further information on whether the newly identified high-grade mineralisation continues at depth.
