Finland has officially launched what is being described as Europe’s first lithium mine dedicated to battery-grade production, marking a major breakthrough in the continent’s drive to secure critical raw materials for electric vehicles and energy storage systems. Operated by mining company Keliber, the new lithium operation in the Kaustinen region of western Finland positions the country at the forefront of Europe’s expanding battery industry.
