E3 Lithium has secured a major financial boost for its flagship Clearwater Project, signing a contribution agreement that provides up to C$36.5 million in non-repayable funding through Natural Resources Canada’s Global Partnerships Initiative. The federal support is intended to accelerate the project’s final demonstration phase and complete the engineering work required for its feasibility study, bringing the Canadian lithium project significantly closer to commercial development.
The funding package will finance the final stage of the demonstration facility while supporting the technical and engineering activities needed to prepare a comprehensive feasibility study, one of the most critical milestones in the development of any mining project.
Government Covers 75% of the Development Programme
Under the agreement, the federal government will cover approximately 75% of an estimated C$48 million development programme. Eligible expenditures include project staffing, Phase 3 demonstration activities, and all engineering work associated with completing the feasibility study. Importantly, the funding is retroactive to April 1, 2026, allowing E3 Lithium to recover qualifying expenses incurred since the beginning of the second quarter of the year. The structure of the agreement reduces development costs while enabling the company to maintain momentum as it advances toward commercial-scale production.
