Bulgarian environmentalists protest mine opening in Bosilegrad

Representatives of Bulgarian environmental associations have called on their Serbian counterparts to support them in a protest against the opening of a mine in the municipality of Bosilegrad. The protest will be held on June 14 in front of the Ministry of Environment in Sofia, announced Daniela Mihajlović from the environmental association Eko Surdulica.

One of the demands at this protest, according to her, will be the fulfillment of the agreement made between Serbia and Bulgaria, which includes a ban on the construction of new mines and mini-hydroelectric power plants on the territory of Serbia because they will further pollute the waters flowing towards Bulgaria.
